Facial Steaming. A Robust Preventive Measure Against Acne and Helps With Deep Cleansing and Detoxing Your Skin.
Hold on, Sweet Face; before we dive into this blog, I would like to acknowledge that our excellent Floral Gaze Facial Cleansing Steam is the #1 Seller for June 2021! Ranking number one out of all collections with the most individual units sold, including orders from all sales channels, with a 117% increase in sales. This product has increased to our number one seller in all collections within our brand. Now that's impressive! (Praise Party over here!)
But we couldn't have done this without the help of God first, plus from our new and returning customers wanting to incorporate facial steaming into their skincare routine. And for that, we are delighted and grateful that you all decided to be a part of our OSSS Community and contribute to this fantastic milestone.
Since launching and introducing this product to my brand a year ago, I found that facial steaming is one of my favorite self-care regimens. The blended ingredients of dried flowers and herbs are all-natural refreshing, uplifting, relaxing, rejuvenating, stimulating, hydrating, and restores the skin. Are all added benefits for any self-care regimen.
Setting the mood is everything before I began my skincare routine... The house has to be extremely quiet, my favorite candles are lit, or my favorite wax melts are burning in the oil warmer.
Whenever I have the place to myself (AKA a Kid-Free Weekend), I will get up before everyone on a Saturday or Sunday morning. Indulge in a long hot shower, cleanse my face with my favorite facial cleanser; plus, as of late, I have been testing out a new product that is still in development, the Facial Beauty Bar (Coming Soon), followed by an OSSS scrub.😉
Once I have a fresh and cleansed face, I am off to steaming. Then lastly, I will either do a clay mask or seal everything up with my preferred moisturizer to finalize my skincare regimen.

Now you know the benefits of facial steaming, plus I threw in my personal facial regimen. Check out three different steaming methods to use in the comfort of your home or even when you're traveling.
Method #1: Boil 2-4 cups of water inside a large pot on the stove. Remove from heat and pour into a glass bowl or leave inside the large pot. Add in 1-2 tablespoons of a facial steam stir, steep for 3 minutes. Drape a large towel over your head, placing your face over the bowl/large pot to lock in the steam. Inhale the aroma of the steams for 10 minutes to open your pores and purify your skin. Keep your eyes closed during the process. After your time is up, splash cool water on your face and pat dry. Follow up with your favorite cleansing mask or moisturizer.
Method #2: This is really great if you travel a lot or do not have enough time to boil water on the stove in a pot. Soak your towel in running water and wring it out to make sure that the towel is damp. Add one tablespoon of the facial steam mixture inside the dampened towel. Lay the dampened towel inside a glass bowl. Place the bowl inside the microwave for 1-2 minutes max. You will have a hot and steamy towel once removed. Get into a comfortable position and place the towel on your entire face. Make adjustments if needed relax for 5 minutes. Keep your eyes closed during the process. After your time is up, splash cool water on your face and pat dry. Follow up with your favorite clay mask or moisturizer.
Method #3: A home facial steamer. This method of steaming is the most effective than the other methods provided. Before starting this method, I highly recommend reading the instructions manual before filling up your steamer. Most facial steamers will have very detailed Do's and Don'ts, so please read the instruction manual. Secure the steamer on a hard surface, get comfortable, and set your face inside the cone attachment, staying a few inches away. Again please review the steamer instruction manual. Allow yourself to take frequent breaks when going with this method. Things can get hot and steamy.
Here are a few takeaways to keep in mind...
ALWAYS start with a fresh, clean face and secure your hair to be off your face.
Do not steam your face too much. Try incorporating facial steaming for about ten minutes into your skincare regimen once or twice a week and achieve refreshed hydrated and supple skin.
Most importantly, always test your water before steaming.
Thank you for all your support in the OSSS Community!
Be Sweet. Be Blessed.
